⏰ We’re moving the start time from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM to better accommodate early morning schedules and commitments.

📅 Day 3 of Gloversville Girls Basketball Camp!
🏀 Today’s theme was Sportsmanship — and our young athletes showed up with respect, hustle, and team-first energy from start to finish! 💯
🔥 Our coaches John Person and Mike Hallenbeck led high-intensity full-court 1-on-1 pressure drills, challenging our athletes to handle the ball under pressure while maintaining poise and respect for their teammates.
🎤 We were honored to welcome today's guest speaker Kieonna Christmas, the Division III Rookie of the Year out of Morrisonville College!
Kieonna, a star from Fonda-Fultonville, brought her incredible story and energy to camp, as well as a stacked resume. In high school, she was:
▪️ Named MVP and Female Athlete of the Year
▪️ Featured on ESPN for a legendary Quintuple Double (11 pts, 20 rebounds, 11 assists, 10 steals, 10 blocks) 👏
Kieonna spoke about her journey and how sportsmanship helped her grow both on and off the court. After answering camper questions, she even jumped into drills and encouraged players during our closing 3v3s and 5v5s 🙌

🏀 Day 1 of Gloversville Girls Basketball Summer Camp is underway! 🔥Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade group kicked things off strong this morning with full-court drills led by Varsity Coach John Person. This group brought the energy, focus, and hustle from start to finish — setting the tone for the packed week ahead! 💪The excitement doesn’t stop there — each day this week, campers will have the incredible opportunity to hear from women’s college coaches and players, who will be joining us as guest speakers to share their journeys and answer questions. Our athletes are in for an unforgettable week of motivation and mentorship!!🙌Our grades 6–8 group is also in action from 12:30–3:30 PM each day. (Please note: sign-ups for our Girls Basketball Camp are now closed — this is just a heads-up for those following along!) Camp runs all week long, Monday through Thursday. 🚌 NOTICE: 2025–2026 Elementary Shuttle Bus Sign-Ups Now Open!
The Gloversville Enlarged School District has officially opened elementary shuttle bus sign-ups for the 2025–2026 school year! Requests will be accepted through August 22. One submission per scholar is required. Seats are limited and assigned on a first-come, first served basis, so we encourage you to sign up as soon as possible. 📚 Kindergarten Kickoff – Day One: Literacy Day! ✨
Our first day of Kindergarten Kickoff was a huge success as we focused on all things literacy with our future scholars of tomorrow! We started the morning with some energizing stretches led by Mrs. Wood, followed by a fun yoga session and an engaging alphabet review. Our guest helper, Valerie Venturini, brought the alphabet to life through object association activities that had everyone participating and laughing! Before our snack time, we welcomed a special guest from the Gloversville Public Library Sonny — who led an animated and interactive story time featuring “Waiting Is Not Easy” by Mo Willems. His enthusiasm had the whole group joining in and enjoying every moment! To close out the day, each future scholar received a backpack filled with school supplies, a water bottle, and reading materials to help them feel confident and ready for September. A huge thank you to Mrs. Wood for leading an incredible first day, and special thanks to Valerie Venturini and Sonny for helping make it such a memorable experience. And of course, thank you to the Gloversville Public Library for your support in bringing this program to life! We can’t wait to see everyone and welcome even more new faces-at next week’s class on Tuesday, July 15th at the Dubois Garden Apartments Community Space, 181 West Street in Gloversville, once again from 10:00–11:00 AM! #KindergartenKickoff #GESDSummer

At Gloversville Enlarged School District our Pre-K programs include classes at Park Terrace, Kingsborough, and McNab Elementary Schools. At the McNab site we partner with Fulmont Headstart programs. Last Day, Best Day — Science Style with Mrs. Miller! 🔬🎉☀️ The last day of classes in Mrs. Miller’s 6th grade science room was one our scholars won’t soon forget! To close out an amazing school year, our scholars took part in Mrs. Millers STEM Engineering Challenge, where they put their creativity, critical thinking, and precision to the test by constructing marshmallow and toothpick towers. 🏗️✨The challenge wrapped up with two big honors:🏆 Tallest Free-Standing Tower🎨 Most Creative Design. To cap off the final day, Mrs. Miller announced our end of the year Team 1 All-Stars — a group of standout scholars recognized for their exemplary behavior, academic effort, and outstanding citizenship throughout the 2024–2025 school year!
