GESD scholars showed up and showed out at the Regional Battle of the Books at the New York State Museum-bringing home both championship trophies!
From GMS continuing its incredible run to GHS earning another title-now two in the last three years-our teams continue to build on a tradition of excellence. We’re incredibly proud of the dedication, teamwork, and passion these scholars bring year after year.

Thanks to their fundraising efforts during modified basketball games this season, these dedicated scholars were able to give back-donating $50 to The Loft and $120 to the Ronald McDonald House in Albany.

The weather didn’t stop our scholars-out marching through the hallways and proudly showing off their green with energy, pride, and St. Patrick’s Day spirit 💚
Congratulations to Bailey Pierce of our Gloversville Lady Dragons Basketball team, who was selected as our team’s Scholar Athlete. Bailey exemplifies excellence both in the classroom and on the court, holding a 99 overall GPA and ranking #1 in her class, while also making a major impact as a ball handler, shot creator, defender, and scoring threat.
Bailey was also selected by the Section 2 Committee as the overall Foothills Conference Scholar Athlete, chosen among eight schools in the conference. She becomes the third Gloversville girls basketball player in the past six seasons to earn this honor.

Scholars rotated through interactive stations where they modeled the rock cycle using bubble gum and Nerds, created sedimentary rocks with Jolly Ranchers, examined real rock samples from classroom kits, and demonstrated tectonic plate movement using graham crackers and frosting.

We’ve made it easier than ever to cross the finish line with our new online registration portal and dedicated Future Huskies and Dragons registration page.
