With the cold sticking around outside, our sixth grade scholars brought the warm, relaxing vibes inside for this year’s Read-a-Thon—lounging with books, soaking in the moment, and diving into great stories.
While the setting felt like summer, the impact is all year long—every page builds stronger readers, sharper thinking, and skills that carry into every classroom and beyond.
If we can’t find the sunshine… we’ll create it 🌊📖

Join us tonight at 7:00 PM in the GHS Gymnasium as our scholars take the court for a great cause. The National Honor Society’s 3x3 Basketball Tournament is more than just games—it’s our community coming together to support the fight against childhood cancer through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Using cookies as a metaphor, scholars explored how the “ingredients” in our lives-our experiences, both good and challenging-can come together to shape something meaningful when we use them with purpose.

At GESD, dedicated staff members help create safe, welcoming environments where scholars can learn and thrive.
Ed Reedy, who joined the district in 2018, was recently appointed Head Custodian at Gloversville Middle School. In this leadership role, Ed helps oversee the daily care and upkeep of the building, ensuring it remains clean, safe, and ready each day for scholars, staff, and the community.
Ed’s work behind the scenes plays an important role in supporting the positive learning environment at GMS and the success of everyone who walks through its doors.

Scholars at Gloversville Middle School brought Greek mythology to life as they presented their character research in the library to a packed house.
From ethical research and works cited pages to confident public speaking, it was an impressive display of scholarship, voice, and growth.

During February, Gloversville Middle School scholars took a chance on a “Blind Date with a Book” in the GMS Library-choosing a wrapped mystery read, diving in, and rating their date.
One lucky reader was drawn from the entries and received a gift bag along with a book of their choice. 📚
