BOULEVARD ELEMENTARY COUNSELING SERVICES

Consistent with the district’s philosophy of education, Boulevard Elementary School’s counseling program concerns itself with maximizing each child’s potential. It is the goal of Boulevard’s counseling program to academically and socially prepare today’s scholars to become tomorrow’s adults.

Through a comprehensive pupil services program, the children of Boulevard and their families are offered a variety of counseling/consultation opportunities ranging from individual, group, and in-classroom programming to family counseling. All services offered are geared toward assisting scholars and their families with achieving scholar success. Information, knowledge of community resources, and referrals are also available.

The counselors also work closely with teachers and staff to provide Boulevard scholars with the opportunity for optimal learning to occur. In addition to a variety of counseling services, the school counselor is also responsible for tracking and monitoring scholar attendance.

TOO GOOD FOR VIOLENCE PROGRAM

Boulevard Elementary and HFM Prevention Council work together to provide students with a bullying prevention program, Too Good for Violence. The program uses four interwoven concepts – conflict resolution, anger management, respect for self and others, and effective communication – to offer a caring approach to bullying/violence prevention.
