Huge congratulations to Boulevard Elementary’s very own, Amy VanNostrand! 🍎✨

We could not be prouder to see Mrs. VanNostrand recognized as a 2026 Teacher Supply Surprise winner by News Channel 13 and Sunmark Credit Union!

She was awarded an incredible shopping spree at the Clifton Park Walmart to help stock up on resources, and as Mrs. VanNostrand shared: "My scholars will smile a little bigger this year because of you!"

If you know Mrs. VanNostrand, you know the deep heart and dedication she pours into Boulevard every single day. She has a true gift for seeing every scholar as an individual-meeting them right where they are, tailoring her teaching to how they learn best, and ensuring every child gets the high-quality education they deserve.

Thank you to WNYT, Sunmark Credit Union, and Walmart for supporting our educators, and thank you, Mrs. VanNostrand, for representing the absolute best of our GESD Community! 👏❤️

Record-Breaking Day of Community Pride & Support! ❤️🎒
What an incredible afternoon. Today’s 10th Annual GESD Backpack Giveaway completely blew us away-we officially gave out more backpacks today than in any other year of running this event!
Walking around Boulevard Elementary, seeing our scholars getting fresh haircuts, families grabbing food, and our community partners coming together under one roof was a real reminder of why Gloversville is so special. When our families needed a hand, our neighbors, businesses, and staff didn't hesitate to step up and make sure every single child walked away ready to succeed. It takes a true team effort to pull this off, and our entire community showed up with so much heart today.
We want to extend a massive thank you to all the hands on deck, from our tireless volunteers to our dedicated staff, for bringing the energy and making this day run so smoothly.
We are also incredibly grateful to the sponsors who stepped up to make this possible:
🤝 Thank you: Gloversville Little Huskies, Gloversville Educational Foundation, NBT Bank, Target, Alpin Haus, Euphrates, Walmart Distribution Center, First Choice Financial Federal Credit Union, and Miracle-Ear.
Events like this show what happens when a community genuinely cares for its own. Thank you to everyone who spent their afternoon with us, gave back, or helped out behind the scenes.
🎥 Keep an eye on our page-we captured so many great moments today and will be sharing a full recap video in the coming days!

In partnership with the Gloversville Educational Foundation, this year’s event was an absolute success-we completely blew last year’s attendance numbers out of the water!

A massive thank you to our Elementary Curriculum Director, Ms. Wood, for making this all possible and igniting so much energy and life into our summer learning initiative. 🌟

📢 Important Update for GESD Elementary Families! 📢

Please see the attached letter from Superintendent David Halloran regarding adjusted start and dismissal times for our elementary schools beginning this school year (2026-2027).

Why the change?
These schedule adjustments were made after a careful review of our district’s transportation operations. By better staggering dismissal times, we aim to eliminate lengthy bus wait times, improve transportation efficiency, and make daily drop-off and pick-up routines more convenient for families traveling between buildings.

Quick Schedule Look:

Boulevard Elementary: 8:25 a.m. - 3:10 p.m.

Kingsborough Elementary: 8:35 a.m. - 3:20 p.m.

Park Terrace Elementary: 8:35 a.m. - 3:20 p.m.

Pre-Kindergarten (both sites): 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Arrival from 8:45-9:00 a.m.)

More details regarding specific bus routes, pick-up, and drop-off times will be shared as transportation routes are finalized.

Thank you for your flexibility and continued partnership as we work to provide a safe, efficient, and predictable school day for all our scholars! We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. 🍁

Please read the full attached letter for more details.

Please note that next Tuesday's session (July 21st, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM) will now be taking place at Park Terrace Elementary.

We can't wait to keep this momentum going with our future scholars. See you there! 🎒✨
