In our schools across the Gloversville Enlarged School District, safety and community go hand in hand — and at the heart of that mission is Officer Brown, our dedicated School Resource Officer.
Originally from the 518 area, Officer Brown has been a police officer for nine years and has spent the last three years serving GESD, where he is more than just a presence in the hallways — he’s a mentor, guide, and trusted member of the school family.
On any given day, Officer Brown can be found walking the halls, greeting scholars, supporting classroom activities, and participating in school events. He works tirelessly to ensure that students feel safe while fostering relationships built on trust and respect. Over time, he’s developed strong bonds with both students and staff — connections that extend far beyond the classroom and create a sense of comfort and belonging across the district.
He shared that one of the most rewarding parts of the job is “walking into school and seeing scholars happy and excited to see me.” For Officer Brown, those everyday interactions — the smiles, the greetings, and the conversations — are what make his role so meaningful and fulfilling.
Through his daily dedication, Officer Brown exemplifies what it means to make a difference at GESD. His presence is a reassuring reminder that our schools are not only safe spaces for learning, but places where students are known, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
