The State Education Department requires the District to hold a prekindergarten lottery each year to ensure access and opportunities for children. Our NYSED grant includes District Pre-K programs, and we partner with Fulmont Head Start and Whispering Pines PreK 4 year old programs. If more than 145 applicants are received a lottery will be held to determine student placement in our Prekindergarten programs on March 1st at 11:45 A.M. at the District Office. Students not receiving a placement will be placed on a dated waiting list. If there are less than 145 applicants the students will be placed in the program closest to their first choice.

Kindergarten Round-Up for September 2024
We are currently making a list of the children who will be registering for Kindergarten at Park Terrace Elementary School and Kingsborough Elementary School for September 2024. Scholars will be attending a screening at the school in which they reside.
If you have a child that will turn five (5) on or before December 1, 2024, please notify us by either completing the bottom part of this letter and submitting it to the main office or by calling Park Terrace at 518-775-5750 option 0 or Kingsborough 518-775-5730 option 0.
Kindergarten Registration Dates:
Kingsborough: Tuesday, May 14, Wednesday, May 15 and Thursday, May 16 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Park Terrace: Tuesday, May 21, Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
The information you submit will help us plan screening appointments, staff needs, and supplies for our Kindergarten scholars entering Kindergarten next year. We look forward to hearing from you.
