Goals of the Shared Decision Making Team
1. To increase home / school communication
2. To increase reading opportunities for all children
3. To promote pride in self, family, school and community
The Park Terrace Elementary School Shared Decision Making Team meets the third Monday of each month in the principal’s office.
Each year we conduct fundraising activities to support our goals. Through these efforts we are able to give free books to children throughout the year. We also give teachers money to buy books to increase their classroom libraries. Bi-monthly we hold student, parent, teacher and principal breakfasts. Three to four students are invited to be honored by their teacher. Honored students receive a free book, a certificate and breakfast. Also all kindergarten students receive a free book at graduation.
Meetings are open to the public and new members are always welcome.
