At Meco we have begun our
final testing period for the school year and will be
doing benchmark assessments to see how our students have
progressed throughout the year.
The AIS teachers will
administer the Peabody Picture Vocabulary test to the
Kindergarten students, along with assisting with other
testing. We will complete our M&M Reading program on
Friday, May 21st. Those students who have reached the 25
book goal will be rewarded at the end of the school
year. We will be visited by Mr. Twisty, the reading
magician, on May 26th as a reward to the students for
reading at home this year!
The first grade classes are continuing to learn about
the ocean. We learned about parrots, penguins, and
seals. Many letter combinations and sight words are
being introduced and practiced.
In math we are learning about money, fractions,
polygons, and math facts. We enjoyed the exhibits at the
Art Show this year. We also made Mother’s Day gifts for
Mom.
We are looking forward to Field Day on June 3rd . It is
a fun time for the entire school!
