Capital project report shared with board
In August, the Gloversville Board of Education reviewed updated recommendations for a $38,799,529 capital project that would improve health, safety, security and energy efficiency in GESD schools with no additional local tax impact.
Interim principal appointed at Kingsborough
The GESD Board of Education has appointed an area veteran school administrator to serve as the interim principal at Kingsborough Elementary School.

Athletes, coaches attend leadership retreat

Summer STEM: GHS students launch weather balloon
GHS students, faculty, alumni and community volunteers July 29 launched a weather balloon as part of the extra-curricular High Altitude Achievement project. It was the second weather balloon launch for the STEM-related project.
GHS group returns from trip to Italy
A group of nearly 40 GHS students, teachers, parents and others recently returned from the school’s bi-annual trip to Italy, which included an excursion to Greece and the Greek Isles.
Free meals for all Gloversville students
Thanks to federal funding, all students in the Gloversville Enlarged School District will receive free breakfast and lunch beginning this year.
GHS spring sports teams earn Scholar Athlete distinction
The Gloversville High School baseball and boys and girls track teams have earned Scholar Athlete honors from the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.
GESD summer athletic opportunities help keep students active
The GESD Athletic Department has organized several opportunities to help keep students active during the summer including basketball, baseball, cheerleading, soccer, softball and volleyball.
New immunization requirements in place
There have been changes to the 2015-16 immunization requirements for public school that parents should be aware of. Among the changes are requirements that all children have their complete series of MMR, DTaP and polio immunizations prior to entering school.
