Three Gloversville Odyssey of the Mind teams are headed to the state competition in Binghamton this weekend after winning first place in their respective divisions during the regional competition March 29 at Broadalbin-Perth High School.
Board adopts budget under state tax cap
The GESD Board of Education on Tuesday, April 8, adopted a proposed $61.7 million school budget for 2014-15 that maintains all academic programs, while adding new courses and reinstating programs that were cut in previous years.

GMS, GHS students have new bus option
As part of a new pilot program, beginning in April, Gloversville middle and high school students will be able to catch a free bus ride to school from three locations within the district.
Clothing and book giveaway planned
A Clothing/Book Giveaway is planned for 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 26 at McNab School. Free clothing and books for adults and children of all ages and sizes will be available. The event is sponsored by the Gloversville Teachers Association.

Gloversville Enlarged School District is participating in the AmeriGas School Days Program, which will provide up to $2,000 per school year.
2014 Gloversville Reads book chosen
The 2014 Gloversville Reads winner is “Mohawk” by city native Richard Russo. Copies of “Mohawk” are available at the Gloversville Public Library and Mysteries on Main Street in Johnstown.
