One More Log

The sky darkens into a window of shimmering stars.  The pale moon's soft glow lights up the water at my feet. All is silent, but the crackling pine in the fireplace.  I sit into my wooden Adirondack chair letting my mind unwind from the daily events.  Soon the front of my legs are burning from the heat of the fire while the backs are as cool as the summer night.  My feet are feeling the cool grass soaked from the evening dew.  As my senses open up as  I become aware of every nightly creature.  I hear the soft pat of lake waves hitting rock, it seems as if the moonlight is pushing the water forward.  As I take all this in; the smell of the fire, the one sided heat, the wet grass, and the wonderful moon behind as erupting fire, makes me tranquil.  I am watched the fire from a roar, to a steady burn, to now just a glow.  As the moon rises in the sky, I think to myself, "One more Log"?
