I walked through the giant wood colored door after the lady in
the white jacket let me in. I saw a machine to my left that was blinking
fiercely with red lights.
In front of me I could see what looked to be beds, but had a
thin pillow layer, unlike a mattress. They were all covered with water
colored blankets that seemed as comfortable as laying on a rock.
That's when I turned and walked three floor blocks
further. There she was shriveled looking, something like a prune.
I saw her vibrating hand reach out and that's when I knew she saw me standing
there. I grabbed her hand and squeezed it tight, almost like I never
wanted her to let go. The sun's rays painted her face as she looked at
me and a ball of moisture fell down her face. That is when I knew, my
grandmother still had strength and was going to going to breathe.
