School Homework Policy
In a continuing effort to
give GESD students opportunities for success, Gloversville High
School will be implementing the following homework procedure,
which was endorsed by the Board of Education. The policy will
affect ALL high school students this fall.
The policy and steps for
completing homework are as follows:

to class unprepared - stays at school from 2:20 to 2:50 and the
parent is notified via phone or letter.
Step 2: Student comes
to class a second time unprepared - stays with the teacher from
2:20 to 2:50, and the parent is notified via phone or letter.
Step 3: Student comes
to class unprepared a third time - student stays with the teacher
from 2:20 to 2:50, parent is notified via phone and letter, and a
parent-student-teacher conference is scheduled.
Step 4: Student comes
to class unprepared a fourth time - is assigned a 3:20 detention.
Step 5: Student comes
unprepared a fifth time - student is assigned a 4:00 detention and
parent is notified.
Step 6: Student comes
unprepared a sixth time - student is assigned a 5:20 detention and
parent is notified.
It is the goal of the school
district to make every student academically successful.
Gloversville High School is prepared to take on this challenge and
is looking forward to seeing the rewards of this program.
Completing daily homework is a critical component of academic
success and your continuing support is appreciated. Please do not
