1. Gloversville High School Honors Courses
- Students completing and passing ten (10) or more Honors courses will wear gold tassels at commencement. The names of students completing ten (10) or more Honors courses will have an asterisk in the alphabetical listing in the commencement program.
2. State Regents Diploma with Honors - A State Regents Diploma With Honors is issued when Regents examinations are passed in Comprehensive English, Global Studies, US History and Government, and major sequence(s) with an average of 90 or higher. If a Regents exam is taken more than once, the higher Regents exam will be used to compute the Regents average.
3. Gloversville High School Exemplary Honors - Students completing 10 or more honors classes, and completing all Regents exams with an 89.5 or better average. Students will be listed on the back of the commencement program in a special section.
4. Laura Moyer Chapter of the National Honor Society - All students in the junior and senior classes who have a minimum grade point average of 9.0 on the 12-point scale are eligible for induction into the National Honor Society. Academically eligible students with who have attended GHS for less than one semester may request the Principal seek a letter of recommendation from the principal of the school previously attended. The criterion for membership is based upon scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Each eligible student will receive a packet that will help the Faculty Selection Committee determine his or her worthiness. More information is available at the Career and Counseling Center.
5. Laurel G Award - The Laurel G Award is designed to recognize those seniors who have excelled scholastically and who have made significant contributions in extracurricular activities while a student at Gloversville High School. To receive this award, a student must be a member of the graduating class, have an unweighted grade point average of 9.0 or higher, receive the endorsement of the GHS faculty, and have participated, in a meaningful manner, in extracurricular activities.
6. Principal’s Award - This award is presented to the graduating senior selected as the outstanding graduate of the class. To be a candidate for this award, a student must be a recipient of the Laurel G Award. The recipient is selected by a ballot of the faculty and the student body.
