Club The
high school is fortunate to have professional facilities for the
study of plants, energy conservation and landscaping. Our local
efforts are centered on the courtyards. Our landscaping projects
help make the school more cheerful. Our greenhouse is used to
produce the plants for our projects. If you have an interest in
science/ecology, the Biology Club is for you. Advisors: Mrs. Susi,

Choir
ClubThis
club works in conjunction with the Jazz Band Club. This
organization performs at school related, community and charitable
activities. The Choir Club has given to the local Food Pantry and
collected items for those in need overseas. Practices are held at

Computer
ClubThe
Computer Club is a hands on computer experience integrating
computer skills and marketing. Students will be exposed to Web
designing with the possibility of fund raising using the skills
acquired in the club. Fund-raising events will be used toward
guest speakers, the latest technological advances, as well as
possible field trips to see how computers enhance work places.

Education Clubs of America (DECA)DECA
is involved in the career field of marketing, merchandising and
retail management. Outstanding field trips provide exposure to
state and national programs. DECA also operates out of the School
Store. Advisor: Mr. Murdico
Foreign
Language ClubDo
you want to know more about the culture of other countries? Then
join the GHS Foreign Language Club. We will have at least one
foreign food dinner, a trip to Canada, and other interesting
activities. Meetings will be held once a month. The club is open
to all students. You are invited to join for fun and adventure.

Jazz
BandThis
group performs at school related, community, and charitable
activities. Practices are held at times outside the school day.
Jazz Band membership is selective, limited first to qualified
currently enrolled band members and then to qualified students who

ClubThe
Key Club is a school and community service organization that
participates in projects designed to assist both our school and
community. Advisor: Mr. Thompson
Rapid
Recall ClubThis
activity fosters a spirit of competition among students by
engaging them in a scholastic trivia competition that covers all
areas of school curriculum. The top contenders compete as a team
in a scholastic trivial pursuit competition with other schools
from the capital district. Advisor: Mr. Vanarnum
ScitamardStudents
audition for parts and put on drama productions in the fall and
spring. There is a stage crew that is also involved with the
productions. Advisor: Mr. Burnett
Student
Government Association (SGA)SGA
is the student governing body at GHS. It serves as a liaison among
the administration, faculty, and student body. SGA has
representatives elected by each class and a large number of
representatives-at-large from each class. The bi-monthly meetings
of SGA are open to everyone, and students are encouraged to

Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)SADD
promotes awareness of the problems of drinking and driving and

Library AssistantsAny
student in grades 9 - 12 who is interested in becoming a member of
the library staff should see the librarian. Some of the duties
include charging out books, shelving books, stamping new
magazines, running errands, and assisting the librarian in

"Husky Growl" is published numerous times throughout the
year. Students serve in various roles as reporters, photographers,

ClubThe
Technology Club attempts to broaden and deepen the interest and
knowledge of students in the technological world, provide an
opportunity to apply knowledge gained in other courses, and
promote the use of technology at GHS. Advisor: Mr. Nares

- "Oracle"The
staff all work hard together to create the challenges of style and
content. Hard workers are needed for the promotions staff which
sells advertising and book orders. Good photographers are also in
demand. Advisor: Shelbi Lewis, Sue Stein, and Carol Meinecke.
