students; mentoring program models success
The Gloversville High School
Mentor Program, in its third year, needs 10th, 11th and 12th graders
who have a free period and a big heart to mentor Gloversville Middle
School students. Students can mentor one-on-one, work in a subject
area in which they excel, or help a teacher they had in the
past. Mentoring can also be done after school.
The Gloversville High School Mentor Program was created with one
simple principle: students helping students. The program has grown
into much more.
The Gloversville High School Mentor Program gives Gloversville High
School students a sense of need, purpose and self-worth. Knowing
that other students are depending on them and looking to them for guidance
helps to build self confidence in the high school mentors. The
Gloversville High School Mentor Program benefits students by demonstrating to them that others care.
