Valentine project brings
GHS students together
GHS students are have been
working as a community to complete a Valentine Project to benefit
the elderly of Gloversville. The project, designed by senior Anna
Adelman, was created as a way to bring a little sunshine to the
senior citizens in our community.
Many groups have students have
been involved in this project, along with several GHS faculty and
staff members. Valentine cards were designed by the students of the
life skills classes. These cards were reproduced and then folded by
the career and finance classes. The GHS English teachers had
students write short notes and decorate each card. The school store,
run by James Murdico, donated the funds to purchase silk roses,
which were delivered with the notes on Valentine's Day.
The life skills classes along
with the Gloversville Key Club members sent the notes and
flowers to 176 elderly residents at the Fulton County Residential
Care Facility and 85 senior citizens at Nathan Littauer Nursing
Home.
