This is listing of Summer College
Programs available to high school students. Some are exploration
enrichment programs, others allow students to earn college credits.
These are great opportunities for students to experience a college
campus. Each program has its own specific requirements, most
programs offer scholarships and financial assistance. All programs
are accepting applications now through their deadlines. If you have

Center. Skidmore College
Pre-College Summer Program: This 5 week program allows students
to try their hands at college life and learning. This program is
for students currently in their sophomore, junior or seniors years.
Students can take courses in math, science, philosophy, poetry, and
studio art just to name a few. Students can either enroll as
residential students or as day students. For more information go

Smith Summer Science and
Engineering Program: The Science and engineering fields offer
so many opportunities for girls. In this program, students will
learn about the biology of women athletes, design with architects or
unlock the mystery of your own DNA. This program is open to girls
entering grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 in the fall 2007. Partial to full
financial aid is available for students. For more detailed program

Ithaca College Summer
Programs: Ithaca College offers one week mini-courses,
three-week and five-week sessions. This program is available to
students who are currently freshman, sophomores or juniors. College
credit can be earned in the three and five week sessions. More
information about specific college courses, the program and
applications can be found at:
www.ithaca.edu/summercollege. A limited number of need-based
partial tuition scholarships are available. Applications are
accepted presently through May 1, 2007.
Alfred University Summer
Programs: Alfred University is offering several summer
institutes in such topics as: Astronomy, Women Leaders of Tomorrow,
Creative Writing, Entrepreneurial Leadership, Equestrian Camps, swim
camp, and Basketball camp. All of these camps are open to high
school students. Additional information and applications are
available at
www.alfred.edu/summer. The application deadline for many of
these programs is May 4.
Carnegie Mellon – Summer
Pre-College Programs: Carnegie Mellon University is located in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They offer topics in AP-Early Action,
Architecture, Art, Design, Drama, Music, and the National High
School Game Academy. For more specific program information and
applications go to:
www.cmu.edu/enrollment/pre-college. These programs are for
students entering junior or senior year in fall of 2007.
Applications are accepted now through June 1, 2007.
Harvard Summer School –
Secondary School Program: This program is available to students
who will be seniors, juniors or sophomores in the fall of 2007.
Harvard Summer School is looking fro mature, academically motivated
students who demonstrate potential for success in a college
environment. Students are able to choose from dozens of Harvard
Summer School courses. Other programs include: The Drama Program,
The Writing Program, the Math Program, and a College Preparatory
Program. Partial Financial aid is available. More detailed

2007.
Pace University Summer
Scholars Program: Do you want to see what college life will be like
in New York City, including courses, dorm life and events? This is
an intensive college experience, with a selective course of study
designed for exceptional sophomores and juniors eager to experience
the atmosphere of university life. Topics available are: American
Politics, Model United Nations, Film and Screen Studies, Stage
Production & Theater, Acting Skills, Legal Studies, Forensic
Science, Art & Design and Environmental Studies. Students must have
an 85 or higher GPA. Scholarships are also available. For more

Saint Rose College Summer
Academy: This day program is for students currently in grades
6-10. Saint Rose offers a variety of programs in such areas as:
Art, Music, Cultural Passport, Writing, Performing Arts, Science &
Technology and Theater. Courses are open to all students; please
not ability recommendations to determine if a certain course is
appropriate for your child. Scholarship opportunities are
available. More information and applications are available at
