This course is
designed to teach students 21st Century Technology
skills. As teenagers, I am sure you use technology on a daily
basis for fun; Facebook, texting, YouTube. This class is going
to show you how technology can be used to enhance your education
as well.
We will discuss:
- Internet safety and
security
- Netiquette
- Respecting copyright
law (plagiarism)
- Research: Internet
searching, evaluating websites, citing sources
- SCRATCH: An animated
computer programming language
- Creating blogs, wikis,
websites, podcasts, Photostories
Students are
expected to:
- Come to class
prepared and on time
- Participate in class
discussions and activities
- Follow directions the
first time given
- Be respectful of
property and student opinions
- Complete assignments
on time and to the best of their ability
Students will be
graded on class participation and completion of assignments. A
large group project will be completed at the end of the course
using all of the topics discussed in class. This will be
discussed in detail during class. Students will be expected to
work together to create a creative product to solve the given
problem using technology learned throughout the course. Time
will be given in class to work on the project, but it may be
necessary to work outside of the regular class time to complete
the project or get extra help. |
