feel, but they can learn to make choices about how they behave."
The purpose of the
classroom is to give students the opportunity to practice using
appropriate strategies to cope with frustration, anger,
disrespect, conflict, bullying, anxiety, etc.
Students need to learn
to recognize what situations and events trigger their behavior.
Equal treatment is not

Change begins with
external motivation. Change is lasting when the motivation
comes from within.
It is important to ask
questions before making judgments.
Perception may not be
reality.
Trust is earned.
Individuals are unique.
It makes sense that their preferences may differ.
Continued
experimentation leads to the best solutions.
Climate is everything in
a behavior classroom.
Humor goes a long way.
Behavior consequences
cannot be arbitrary.
The needs of the group
are just as important as the needs of the individual.
