  Buttons and Bow Knots  
     
  2 cups Bisquick
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon nutmeg
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 cup milk
1 egg

Topping:
¼ cup butter or margarine melted in a small bowl
Mix ½ cup sugar and ½ teaspoon cinnamon in a small bowl

Preheat oven to 400F. Mix ingredients in a medium-mixing bowl. Beat vigorously for 20 strokes. Do not overmix. Round dough on a lightly floured surface. Flour hands and knead about 5 times. Flatten dough into circle with your hands. Then roll out dough using a floured rolling pin until dough is ½ inch thick. Dip doughnut cutter in flour and cut. To make a bowknot hold sides of dough and twist to form a figure 8. Place buttons and bow knots on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes. While baking, melt margarine in microwave and make topping in second bowl. While buttons and bowknots are still warm, dip them lightly in melted margarine and then into cinnamon and sugar mixture. Serve warm.
