Hello and welcome! My name is Mrs. Salvatore and I am going to
be your child’s Pre-K teacher. The classroom aide is Mrs.
Pettit. We are very happy to have your child in class. We are
looking forward to a very exciting and wonderful school year.
I wanted to share some thoughts with you to help make
your child’s first school experience as positive and as
stress-free as possible.
Please keep in mind that the clothing your child wears
here should be simple and user-friendly. He/she should be able
to dress and undress themselves unassisted. Fancy belts,
suspenders and shoes do cause them problems. Shoes should be
playground safe, comfortable, and the type your child can take
off/put on unassisted. If they like the sneakers that tie,
maybe you could practice tying.
The only thing your child will need to bring to school
is a book bag. It should be large enough to accommodate a file
folder but, again, please keep it simple. Your child needs to
be able to open and close it unassisted. The book bags on
wheels are dangerous and cause them to trip and fall.
Your child does not need to bring money to school.
Our breakfasts and lunches are part of our program and are
provided free to all students.
We're looking forward to a great school
year!
