What is Mimio?
·
Mimio is a device that can be used with
any whiteboard to perform TWO important functions.
1.
Capture, store and share all of your
whiteboard notes and ideas digitally. (Recording Mode)
2.
Turn any whiteboard into an interactive
computer screen. (Interactive Mode)
This sounds complicated, why would I want to use this?
·
This is the question that you are going
to answer throughout the day. This is not an “add on.” This is a
new way to streamline your teaching, make education engaging,
communicate with parents and students, and make life easier.
·
But it is up to you. There are so many
applications of this hardware that you need to determine what works
best for you, your curriculum, and your students. Work with your
group today to brainstorm ways to use this technology.
Recording Mode
Digitally record anything
that you write on the whiteboard
In recording mode, the
Stylus pens and erasers can be used to draw and erase ink on the
whiteboard.
Using the hardware buttons
When using the Recording Mode the Mimio hardware buttons can be used
to easily access features directly from your whiteboard.

Storing the digital Ink
If there is a computer
nearby, the information will be automatically saved to the
computer. If there isn’t a computer nearby, the Mimio can store
hours of material on its own, then it can be downloaded to any
computer.
Interactive Mode
A projector, combined with a Mimio capture device, can be a powerful
tool for interactive presentations.
Setup – Fast and Easy!
