A student was recently diagnosed with a common skin infection known as Impetigo. Impetigo is contagious if the fluid from the blisters touches an open area on someone's skin.
The district is notifying all parents in the school of the diagnosis, and providing them with information on the symptoms of Impetigo along with recommendations from the New York State Department of Health.

As a precaution, the school has taken additional cleaning measures in areas frequented by the student.
If there are any new developments in the district, parents and residents will be informed via the Gloversville district website, www.gloversvilleschools.org, and School News Notifier.
