New central registrar streamlines Gloversville student registration process
Beginning this year, the Gloversville Enlarged
School District will consolidate its student registration process into
one, central location.
In the past, student registration functions were handled at each
individual school by approximately a dozen staff members.
This year, the district hired a central registrar to handle student
registrations for all seven of the district’s schools. Now parents who
need to register their children can simply visit GESD Central
Registrar Cindy Vose at the district’s administration offices.
“Having a central registrar will help the district be more consistent
and accurate with our records and student data,” GESD Assistant
Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Frank Pickus said. “State
requirements for student data, which is used to calculate such things as
state aid payments, have become more and more demanding in recent years.
Having a central person will allow us to be more efficient.”
Vose has worked in the district since 2004. Before moving to the new
central registrar position, she was the building secretary at McNab
Elementary School.
For more information about registering students, call Vose between 7
a.m. and 3 p.m. at 775-5700 x. 9722 or via email at
