Ineligibility Policy now includes all school sponsored events, not just athletics
Parents and students should be aware of recent changes to the Academic Extra-curricular Ineligibility Policy. Under this new policy, students failing one course will be ineligible for extra-curricular activities. This includes any non-credit, school sponsored event, such as school dances, athletic events, Prom, senior class trip, concerts, drama productions, etc.
The purpose of the policy is to encourage all students to maintain an acceptable level of academic achievement.
The biggest thing to be aware of as we enter into next year, is the eligibility for Prom. If students are failing any course in the two-week window prior to the Prom, they will not be allowed to attend - even if tickets, dresses, etc., have already been purchased.
