Members of the Gloversville Board of Education have
decided to reopen the search for superintendent of schools after
contract negotiations broke down with candidate selected for the
position due to issues regarding residency requirements.
“It’s unfortunate that this wasn’t a match, but by widening the pool of
candidates we are optimistic that the right candidate will be
identified,” said Board of Education President Pete Semione.
The position has been open since Rob DeLilli left in summer 2011 to
serve the Greater Johnstown School District. The original pool of 12
candidates was narrowed down to three in January 2012. Interim
Superintendent Cliff Moses will continue to head up the district until a
new superintendent has been selected.
