The GESD Music Department is proud to announce the selection of four Gloversville High School students to participate in the annual NY State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Area All-State Music Festival in Saratoga Springs, NY.

They are: David Ward (Sophomore), Megan McCall, Lindsey Howard and Kerri Cantelupe (Juniors) who were selected for the Mixed Chorus. All are members of the GHS Select Choir under the direction of Maggie Savage.

"It is a tremendous honor to be selected to participate with the most talented student musicians from the Capital Region of New York State ," said GESD Music Department Chair, John Savage.

Students were selected based on the results from their NYSSMA solo performance scores from the Spring 2011 festival in Scotia-Glenville.

They will be performing at the NYSSMA Zone 7 Area All-State Music Festival the weekend of Friday, Nov. 18 th and Saturday, Nov. 19th. The weekend long event concludes with a concert starting at 2:00 pm on Saturday at the Saratoga Springs High School Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door at $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors.
