Robert E. Fisher
“Gloversville and the School District is a great place to both work and raise a family. It has been my pleasure to be part of this area all my life. Watching young people grow and develop has been a tremendous life.”
Robert E. FisherMr. Robert E. Fisher is a 1962 GHS graduate. Prior to teaching, Bob served in the United States Coast Guard until 1965 at which time he received an honorable discharge.

From 1965 to 1972 Bob worked in the private sector for the Gloversville Jewish Community Center, the Gloversville YMCA and the Oneonta YMCA. In 1972, Bob received his undergraduate degree from SUNY College at Oneonta and in the fall of 1972, he accepted a teaching position in the Gloversville Enlarged School District.

According to sponsor, Brett Collins, since returning to Gloversville Bob has been an active member in both the school and community. Having been inspired by his community and school district, Bob decided to make his life in Gloversville and give back to the community and district the values that the district and community instilled in him.

During his 27-year teaching career, Bob touched the lives of thousands of student/athletes leaving behind a legacy that few, if any, will even be able to match.

Mr. Brett Collins nominated Mr. Robert Fisher for inclusion into the Hall of Fame.
