Voter Information

Annual District Budget Vote and School Board Elections

On the third Tuesday of each May, residents in New York State go to the polls to vote on the following year's school district budget and to elect members of the Board of Education.

Voting on the 2012-13 District Budget and Gloversville Board of Education will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Polls will be open from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at all five of the district's elementary schools as well as the Bleecker Town Hall. Absentee ballots

Absentee ballots are available to anyone who will be out of the area for work, school or vacation; hospitalized; permanently disabled, or confined to home due to illness. Click here for an Absentee Ballot Application (PDF) or contact Cathy Meher at 775-5706.

Absentee ballots will be counted only if they are returned at least seven days before the vote if absentee ballot is mailed or at least one day before the election if ballot is picked up.

Voter eligibility

You may vote if you are 18 years old, a U.S. Citizen, a resident of the Gloversville Enlarged School District for at least 30 days prior to a vote, and a registered voter.

Residents may register to vote at the County Board of Elections.

If you want to vote in an election, you must mail or deliver this form to your county board of elections no later than 25 days before the election in which you want to vote. You must be 18 years old by the date of the general, primary or other election in which you want to vote. Your eligibility to vote will be based on the date you file this form, and your county board will notify you of your eligibility.
