Gloversville's construction of the new gymnasium well underway
On Feb. 8, 2007, district residents approved $24.9 million in renovations and improvements that were divided into two phases. The first phase consisted of construction at Kingsborough, McNab, and Meco elementary schools and was completed in the fall of 2009. Phase two consists of additional work at the middle and high school, most notably the construction of a new gymnasium at the high school.

In November 2009,  the district opened and accepted 60 bids from contractors for phase two of the plan. Bids were awarded based on the recommendations from CSArch, GESD's architecture firm. Construction began in the spring of 2010 with completion expected by the fall of 2011.

60 contractors turn out to submit bids for Capital Project
Sixty area contractors submitted bids on Friday, Nov.20, for the final phase of the Capital Project approved by voters in 2007. This phase of the project includes renovations to the Middle School, the High School Auditorium and Gymnasium, as well as new roofs on sections of the High School. These updates and repairs will address program needs and requirements, improve energy efficiency in the buildings, and help insure student and staff safety. CSArch, the district's construction management team, will be reviewing the documents and making their recommendations to the Board of Education on Dec. 7.
