District celebrates opening
of new facility for Building and Grounds, Transportation and Computer
Networking departments
District officials and school board members were joined by Assemblyman
Marc Butler, Jennifer Donovan from Sen. Hugh Farley’s office, and HFM
BOCES Superintendent Dr. Geoffrey Davis in a ribbon-cutting ceremony
at the grand opening of the new district Transportation Facility on
Aug. 30.
In her comments, School Board
President Katherine Hillock thanked the Gloversville community for
supporting the project and making the new facility possible. Nearly 75
guests attended the event, and Superintendent Dan Connor thanked each
of them for helping to make the ceremony a success.

The
Buildings and Grounds Department is located in the new Gloversville
Enlarged School District Transportation Facility off of Route 29A. The department maintains seven school
buildings and the buildings' surrounding grounds, including athletic fields. It
also houses the District's computer system. Building
usage/field usage request forms are located in this office.
There are 44 employees in the division consisting of a director, secretary,
building maintenance supervisor, trades supervisor, grounds
supervisor, electrician, carpenter, painter, grounds men, skilled
mechanics, custodians and cleaners. |
